Project Description

Ah yes, the “oh so lovely” harvest gold fixtures, coordinating tiles & brass trim… so common in this age of home in Victoria.

The renovation goal here was to create a dramatic powder room/main bath with a tub of sufficient size to accommodate hubby who is well over 6′ tall. All this while eliminating the existing water closet and retaining the linen cupboard. It required some creative framing and lots of good old elbow grease. We managed by “stealing” a few inches from the cupboard and sourcing a tub with a large bathing well for the overall dimensions available.

Keeping the floor and wall tiles on tone with the paint colour, and adding a matching, beefy chair rail lend this room its distinctly “European” flavour. The rich stain and delicious “chocolate” counter on the open shelf vanity provide the drama wanted without feeling cramped.

None of our renovations would be possible without the expertise and cooperation of our many excellent trades. We have longstanding, respectful relationships with these people who share a common desire to work together as a team. This makes for an enjoyable experience for all.
